2018 Bella Vida Vineyard Clonal Selection - Pommard Pinot Noir

2018 Bella Vida Vineyard Clonal Selection - Pommard Pinot Noir

The Clonal Selection Series is a collection of small bottlings that reveal the nuanced differences between the Pommard and Wädenswil clones. We were intruigued by the finesse of Pommard and the structure of Wädenswil and how those clones perform together to clearly express their unique terroir. The fruit for these bottlings was sourced from the Bella Vida Vineyard in the Dundee Hills; one of our favorite sites.

This particular bottling is made entirely from the Pommard clone, the most widely planted Pinot Noir clone in Oregon and is a classic Burgundy clone known for its elegant and finesse. This wine has brighter fruit armas than the Wädenswil Clonal Selection Pinot Noir, with a lighter, juicier mid-palate. It has a seamless structure (no rough edges sticking out) and a lot of finesse on the finish.

Extremely limited release and exclusive to the 2018 vintage.

J. Christopher 92 points   2017 Bella Vida Vineyard Pinot Noir (Dundee Hills). A blend of Pommard and Wadenswil clones, this is a finesse wine with a floral nose and pretty though light cherry fruit flavors. It’s framed with orange citrus and finished with tannins that taste of chamomile tea. —P.G.
